As indicated, I have a very personal relationship with Oregon and the Pacific South Coast through my family. My grandparents emigrated to Oregon in the 1980s, so my mother already grew up there. Not only because of our family ties to the region, but also because of her professional ties to the region, we have traveled to Oregon as a family repeatedly from a young age. So I met a lot of great people here, saw some of the country, and even went to school here for a short time. Oregon has always been like a distant second home to me – an incomprehensibly unknown paradise on earth!
